All-American Bowl Game Dandy Dozen
Maxey Weekly Awards
Week #11 - November 5-7

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana
- I am pleased to announce the AABG Dandy Dozen Maxey Award Players of the Week.

SUPER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

1. RB Bryant Dunn, 6-0, 186, 4.4, 36 VJ, 4.2 SH, 117 SBJ, Donaldsonville, Louisiana  - Dunn carried the football 39 times in this District 7-2A District Championship game against Baton Rouge Dunham and he averaged 8.3 yards per carry as he rushed for 323 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-20 District Championship victory. His team was losing 20-16 at halftime, but they came back with 26 unanswered points for the win. Dunn scored his first touchdown on a 15-yard run with 1:33 left in the first quarter and then scored the second time on a 8-yarder with 9:49 left in the second quarter. In the second half, he had touchdown runs of one and five. Ater his first score, Dunn ran for the two-point conversion, giving him 26 points scored for the game. On this night, Dunn was extended his invitation to play in the 2010 All-American Bowl Game Classic and he accepted. After his team finished the regular season with a 9-1 record, Dunn finished with 1,555 rushing yards on 171 carries with 19 touchdowns and a 9.1 yards per carry average.  2010 EAST

DANDY DOZEN AABG MAXEY PLAYERS OF THE WEEK #11

1. ATH Tre' Celestine6-0, 185, 4.56, Baton Rouge Dunham School, Louisiana - Celestine played in that same game that Bryant Dunn rushed for 323 yards. I noticed #5 (Celestine) in warmups as being a very good looking athlete and I wrote his number and name down on my scouting report pad for future reference. Then on the first offensive series, for Dunham, Celestine broke loose for an incredible 72-yard touchdown run. On that play, #5 immediately got my attention again. Then in the second quarter, he beat the cornerback to the end zone pylon for another 6-yard touchdown run. In the meantime, he never came off of the field as he was just as impressive at free safety. On the same night that Dunn got his invitation, Celestine also got his invitation.  EAST 2010

2. QB Andy Dalton - TCU - Dalton was sensational again as he led the undefeated Horned Frogs (9-0, 5-0 Mountain West) to victory as they beat San Diego State by a 55-12 score. Dalton completed 14 of 20 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another two touchdowns as they will probably maintain their #6 National BCS Ranking. 2006 WEST

3.
ATH/QB Ronald Martin, 6-3, 180, 4.4, White Castle, Louisiana - Martin led his team to a 43-8 victory over East Iberville and in the process helped them get into the Louisiana 2A playoffs. In the first quarter, Martin threw a 55 yard touchdown pass and then after an 80 yard touchdown run by sophomore Tyree Bracken, Martin threw for the two-point conversion. Then after an 80 yard run by Shimichael Valentine, Martin again passed for the two-point conversion. In the third quarter, Martin threw another 65 yard touchdown pass, giving him 189 yards passing, 118 yards rushing, including two touchdown passes and two (two-point) conversions.

4.
WR Erik Buchanan, 6-3, 197, 4.47, 42 VJ, 4.2 SH, Aberdeen, Mississippi - Buchanan caught six passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns as his team won on Friday night. Buchanan caught touchdown passes of 60 yards and 46 yards in the victory.
2010 EAST

5. FS Deion Imade, 6-1, 190, 4.42, 36 VJ, 4.12 SH, 120 SBJ, Rowlett, Texas - Imade had a sensational game as he recorded 13 tackles, including two tackles for a loss as his Rowlett Eagles beat the Sachse Mustangs by a 31-28 to make the Texas 5A State Playoffs.
2010 WEST

6. WR Marquis Maze, 5-9, 180, 4.3, Birmingham Tarrant, Alabama and University of Alabama - Maze caught six passes for 885 yards, from Greg McElroy as the Crimson Tide beat LSU by a 24-15 score. 2007 EAST

7. ATH/K Denver Otteson, 5-9, 175, 4.59, Tonopah, Nevada - Otteson rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown and also threw for 41 yards. He caught two passes for 21 yards and made a team-high 24 tackles (16 solo).  He also kicked 3 PAT’s and ran for a two point conversion. Otteson now has 2,487 yards of total offense this season. (#2 in the state rankings).  He also has 152 tackles (88 solo) which is #2 in the State of Nevada.  2010 WEST

8.
K/KO Trent Leucke, 5-8, 160, 4.8, Baton Rouge The Dunham School, Louisiana - In the Friday night District 7-2A Championship game between Donaldsonville and Dunham, I believe that Leucke might be one of the biggest surprises of the season to me. Dunham scored first and then they were preparing to kickoff when one of the officials for Dunham told me to check-out their kicker. Since Ross Krautman (From New Jersey) had to cancel his participation in the All-American Bowl Game Classic, because of academics, the East Team was without a field goal kicker or kickoff kicker. As Leucke kicked off and the ball sailed out of the end zone, I was very excited about his leg strength and I immediately gave the Dunham official an invitation for Leucke to play in the 2010 All-American Bowl Game Classic. 2010 EAST

9. DE Trevor Gillette, 6-2, 225, 4.56, Lake Travis, Texas - Gillette recorded 12 tackles again as his team won their #40 straight game. Teammate Hunter Akers, 5-10, 190, 4.45, is also had another outstanding game with 8 tackles and an interception. These two 2010 All-American Bowl Game Classic players are playing on a team that has won 40 straight games and a team that is averaging 52 points per game. They rarely get to play in the third and fourth quarter.    WEST 2010

10. RB  Jason Cormier, 5-10, 190, 4.5, Lago Vista, Texas - Cormier ran for 266 yards and four touchdowns as Lago Vista won their final District 25-2A game and will prepare for the Texas Bi-District playoffs with Hempstead in Elgin on Friday night. For the regular season, Cormier has rushed for 1,554 yards on 175 carries and he has scored 18 touchdowns. Cormier also has an incredible 14.78 yards per carry for the regular season.  2010 WEST

11.
ATH/QB Jeremy Johnson, 6-1, 180, 4.4, 38 VJ, 4.16 SH, Tyler John Tyler, Texas - Johnson has been an unbelievable Freak all of this football season. In game #5, Johnson rushed for 91 yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns. He also passed for another 122 yards and a touchdown, giving him 213 total yards of total offense as his team beat Lewisville by a 70-6 score. In game #6, Johnson rushed for 306 yards, including touchdown runs of 9, 63, 63, and two yards and he also pased for two other touchdowns, giving him 418 yards and six scores, as his team beat Mesquite Horn by a 59-28 score. 2010 WEST

12.
WR Kenny Brown, 5-11, 175, 4.4, 38 VJ, 4.2 SH, 120 SBJ, Lake Charles St Louis, LA - Brown finished the regular season with 47 catches for 865 yards with an 18.4 yards per catch.
